Pryor Baird Advances to the Top 8 on NBC's The Voice

Pryor Baird continues to impress coaches and fans a like with each week that passes by on NBCs The Voice. Whether he is singing “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton, “Night Moves”by Bob Seger, or “This Town” by Montgomery Gentry, the talented artist is showing why he has become a favorite in the competition.

Baird has able to advance each week due to his growing fanbase and that is not lost on the talented country artist. When talking about the fans Baird was at a loss for words trying to express how much they mean to him.

“The fan support is everything. I mean I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the fans… There are no words. I'm just eternally grateful,” said Baird.

Baird advanced to the Semi-Finals on The Voice with his rendition of “This Town”. Baird reached the top 10 on the iTunes Charts with “This Town” making it the second week in a row where Baird reached the top 10 on the iTunes Charts. Last week Baird reached number three on the overall iTunes Charts. For Baird seeing his name on the iTunes Charts is a dream come true.

“Seeing your name on iTunes, to be in the top 10 it’s one of those surreal moments you dream about when you’re a little kid and you dream about forever. Being a musician you dream about it everyday. You turn the radio on and you listen to music and you’re like someday I hope I can do that, and then when you see it and then it goes all the way to number one on the country charts and number three on the overall music charts it is absolutely unbelievable,” said Baird.

After Baird’s performance of “Night Moves” last week Seger reached out to the talented artist praising his performance. At first Baird thought the tweet was a joke.

“I thought it was a joke. I didn’t think it was real. Nobody thinks it's real, that’s like one of those things when somebody calls you on the phone and it’s like a professional athlete and you just hangup and are like yeah right and they call you back like dude why’d you hang up on me and you’re like oh my go god this is true. When It was really him I was like holly sh**t like that’s one of my biggest accomplishments in my life. It’s been playing with Vince Gill and having Bob Seger tweet you is close to being number two,” said Baird.

Coach Blake Shelton has meant a lot to Baird during this whole entire competition. For Baird, Shelton has made everything about the competition easier for him.

“Oh I mean he’s everything. He’s the one that’s making all this happen. You know he’s the coach and he’s beyond supportive. The great thing is being in front of all the cameras and all the press, and the pressure, and all that stuff it gets to you. I’ve been doing this a long time, but to have Blake he’s just a normal everyday human and he makes everything so easy. He makes you feel so comfortable and is so nice to have somebody like him where it’s like ok I can just relax everything’s good,” said Baird.

According to Baird in order for him to advance to the Finals he must be able to make good song choices, remain true to who he is, and to be honest as an an artist and human.
