Gyth Rigdon is Ready

The Voice’s Blind Auditions are in full swing. Artists from around the country are fighting for their chance to join a Coaches team, in an attempt to realize their musical dreams. Gyth Rigdon got things started for coach Blake Shelton’s team.

Rigdon hails from Singer, Louisiana. At the age of three the talented artist began playing guitar and from there Rigdon graduated to singing in church and the rest is history. Rigdon is now a full-time musician. For Rigdon The Voice is a way for him to take his career to the next level.

“I have been doing music full-time for 10 years and for the past three years I have been touring. The Voice [for me] is the next step in my career,” said Rigdon.

For his blind audition Rigdon sang “Drift Away”. The talented artist got three chairs to turn. Coaches John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Shelton turned their chars. Shelton blocked Leaving Rigdon with two choices. Shelton won the battle saying Rigdon’s performance was like country legend Garth Brooks.

“That was was incredible. I’ve been a fan of Garth Brooks for a long time. Garth Brooks is an idol for me. So for Blake to say that, it was the biggest compliment,” said Rigdon.

Rigdon decided to go with Shelton because the pair have more than just music in common. According to RIgdon just like Shelton both like living the country life which includes hunting and fishing.

Like all the artists who decide to audition for The Voice Rigdon would like to make it as for as he can on the show. Rigdon’s main goal on the show is not want to fail.

“I want to make it as far as I can. Whether I win or not. One of my fears is to fail. To me if I do my best I don’t fail…” said Rigdon.

Next up for Rigdon will be the Battle Rounds. During this round Rigdon will face off against a fellow Team Blake member in hopes of continuing on in the competition.
