Taryn Papa is ready for her chance to shine on The Voice. The Talented singer enticed three coached to turn their chairs with her rendition of Martina McBride’s “Anyway”.
Papa’s road to The Voice started at the age of seven. At the age of seven Papa began learning to play piano. Papa learned how to play piano from her Grandfather. While Papa began her musical journey at age of seven, her road to The Voice stage was not easy. The talented artist had to hear a lot of Nos before she got her Yes.
“I’ve been auditioning for The Voice since I was a senior in College. I knew that it was a way for me to catapult my career and expand from a small town in Connecticut to hopefully having listeners worldwide. “I wasn’t going to take no for an answer. It was one of my dreams and finally after 18 Nos I got a Yes,” said Papa.
“I think over the years you gain experience, and you grow as a person and as an artist. Leaning how to sing with more intent and harnessing stage presence and crowd interaction was something that over the years I was able to learn and prepared me for this moment,” continued Papa.
With her rendition of “Anyway” Papa impressed coaches Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton. Shelton was so impressed he blocked Clarkson eliminating any chance of Papa going to Team Kelly. Papa chose Team Blake and according to the talented singer it was always going to be Shelton.
“I’ve been a Blake fan for a very long time. He is someone I look up to in the Country Music Industry. He is someone that I think will help me long after the show hopefully,” said Papa.
“I was very shocked when I saw the block for Kelly. It felt really good to know that I was blocked because it meant that he wanted me that much more and wanted to work with me. So It was exciting,” continued Papa.
Papa feels she has already accomplished one of her goals on The Voice.
“I feel like it kind of already happened for me. I was able to be heard before I was seen and I gained so many fans and listeners, so much of a support system that I almost fell like just having that chair turn I accomplished what I set out to do. Obviously, I would absolutely love to win the show. That’s definitely always been a goal of mine,” said Papa.
Papa wants here fans, new and old to know she will always be real and upfront with them.
“Something I love most about country music is that it’s three chords and the truth. I think that for my fans I will always carry them on my journey. And be the most honest genuine raw person that I can be with my music, with interviews, with anything that I do. I will always put them first and carry them with me…” said Papa.
