From Walmart to The Voice stage Mother/Daughters duo Worth the Wait is proving they can go far in in the music world. The trio who were the last artist to join Team Blake have made it through to The Knockout Rounds.

Worth the Wait are made up pf Tara(mother), Mia (Daughter) and Jacy Matthews (Daughter). The trio got its start as The Mathews Sisters. Mia and Jacy and their older sister Sadie made up the trio. After Sadie got married and had a special needs baby sisters Mia and Jacey convinced their mother Tara joined the trio. The trio that almost never was now finds themselves on The Voice after a friend suggested they audition.

“Well growing up I sang and performed as a child performer. I had decided that when I had children that if they wanted to follow the music path it would have to be a choice that they made for themselves. They were approached by a friend who said hey you guys want to go audition for The Voice in Nashville and literally a few days before the audition we said ok let’s try it. Well Mia and Jacy were supposed to do it alone as a duo that’s when they talked me into stepping in to do that third harmony, So we went to Nashville and here we are,” said Tara.

During the Battle Rounds Worth the Wait faced off against Taryn Papa. Coach Blake Shelton gave the talented artists Little Big Town's "Little White Church." Both Worth the Wait and Papa did a great job with the song, impressing Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. But in the end, it was Worth the Wait’s family harmonies that propelled them to victory. Even though Worth the Wait has only performed twice so far, they have already started inspiring millions across America.

“[During our time on The Voice] I really hope to be able to reach people and show them [they can do anything]. We’re the only trio this season so you really can do anything because you know we started singing in Walmart and now we’re on The Voice…” said Mia.

During the Blind Auditions, the talented trio sang Linda Ronstadt's "When Will I Be Loved.” Worth the Wait received one of the few four chair turns this season. The four-chair turn felt amazing for the Mother/Daughter trio.

“It felt amazing. It was kind of shocking at first because you are singing with your eyes closed and then you turn while you are dancing. Then you look at them in the eyes and you are like oh we just got a four-chair turn. I’m super grateful and excited for this opportunity,” said Jacy.

Going into the Blind Auditions the trio was set on going with a female coach. In the end it was Shelton’s charm and the connection Worth the Wait felt with Shelton that sealed the deal for the Country Music super star.

“So going in to the audition we kind of had this mind set of Girl Power. We’re girls and I think it would be cool to work with Females. But after they all turned, and we were talking to them and Blake gave us an ovation which was pretty cool. Then he made a Worth the Waite pun and we were like yup that’s the one, “said Mia.

“…We really connected with him and we could not choose him at that point even though Jacy wanted a team Kelly jacket…” added Tara.

Worth the Wait will now advance to The Knockouts where they will fight for chance to advance to the Live Playoffs. During the Live Playoffs Worth the Wait will compete for America’s vote.
